Taste of Henry began nine years ago as an epicurean fundraiser for
A Friend's House, Henry County's home for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. The facility operates as both temporary and long-term placement for children in crisis.

The support of Henry County citizens helped build A Friend's House over eight years ago. The dream is still moving forward; construction recently completed on an expansion that doubled the size of the shelter. This expansion includes a 12-bed adolescent wing, office space, and much needed storage areas. The facility can now provide around-the-clock care for up to 24 newborn to 18-year-old residents daily.
Approximately 40% of the revenues of A Friend's House come from citizens like you in the community. The children need our ongoing support and generosity. Henry County currently averages 360 children in foster care every month. The statistics are heartbreaking considering these numbers have tripled since A Friend's House opened its doors in 1998.
